Lost something on a metro in China?

A metro report needs more than a city name. Different lines can have different operators, and a train may have continued well beyond the station where you got off.

Start with station staff

If you are still nearby, speak to the station service desk. For an item on the track, tell staff and stay behind the barriers; never retrieve it yourself. Ask which company operates the line. China Railway's 12306 railway service is not a substitute for the metro operator.

Reconstruct the train

Record the date and China local time, line, direction, boarding and exit stations, transfers, and where you stood or sat. A transit-payment record can narrow the time. Mark uncertain times as estimates instead of inventing a precise train or carriage.

Make the report matchable

Describe color, size, brand, case and one private identifying feature. Keep a report reference and a reachable alternative number. Use the button below to visit the Beijing Subway official website. Check where it is held

Ask whether a matching item is still at a station or has moved to a central office. Confirm collection hours, proof and deadline before travelling. If already abroad, ask whether a representative is accepted; a station name alone does not authorize collection.

Official phone numbers & websites

Choose the actual operator, airline or province. These checked references are neither a national lost-property database nor an exhaustive company list.

Domestic numbers retain their published format. From abroad, ordinary landlines generally use +86 with the initial 0 of the area code removed. Short codes, 95/96 and 400 numbers may not connect overseas. Confirm availability, languages and hours with the organization. Public sources were checked; the numbers were not test-called.
